Thompson Leads in South Carolina Poll

This Mason-Dixon poll conducted in South Carolina, a key early primary state, has Obama and Thompson leading their respective primaries. Good news all around! I can't wait to see how well Thompson does once he officially enters the race...

Why hasn't he officially entered the race? I'm not expecting you to know his mind, of course, but I'm wondering why he will not officially announce. Is he waiting to see his chances? Is he auditioning for a new part? I've never been crazy about flirting; either commit or move along.

As Mark Belling pointed out on Rush today, his strategy can be illustrated by observing his interaction with the Reblican debate. Simply showing up at the debate as only one of ten or so candidates automatically weakens your stature. Instead, Thompson appeared as a commentator on Fox during the debates. He got about 30 minutes to explain his views while the other candidates had 30 seconds!

He is definitely in, but he is establishing himself as clearly apart from the pack. Sheer genius!
