Global Warming Over?

This article from Daily Tech explains how the earth is now cooling, wiping out a century of warming. The culprit? A fluctuating solar cycle. That's just the way it is--our planet's temperature is not determined by SUV-driving humans but by THE SUN. Of course, admitting any of this would put Algore and his cohorts out of a job. Maybe the media are too busy changing out their safe, cheap light bulbs for the expensive, mercury-laden ones to have much time for good reporting...

It's probably too early to dismiss gradual global warming over the past hundred years based on a year's worth of data--it may prove to be just another fluctuation in the overall trend.

If this cooling continues for a few more years, it will hopefully quiet the greens down a bit. However, since the climate change movement is much more political than scientific, I wouldn't count on it.

Whether the warming trend ends or continues is quite beside the point. What is important to stress is that:

1) There have been cycles of warming and cooling throughout recorded history (the largest warming period was during the Middle Ages--all without so much as one SUV).

2) These cycles are caused by the sun--so forget about carbon footprints.

For those of you who may not have seen it, a documentary called The Great Global Warming Swindle is a must-see on this topic. If you don't have it already, buy the US version DVD here.
