While some families stand by this time-tested guideline for polite dinnertime conversation, we absolutely do not. We found (and still find) the dinner table a place for discussion of the most controversial topics imaginable. This blog is simply an extension of that rich experience. We invite you to join our civil, but probing, discourse. TUMS not included...

I'm a social moderate - 41% permissive; an economic conservative - 70% permissive, and I'm best described as a Republican. Surprised to be described as moderate socially and conservative economically. Personally, I'd describe myself just the opposite.
I was quite pleased, however, to read that: "[I] exhibit a very well-developed sense of Right and Wrong and believe in economic fairness."
Fun quiz.
I got Social Conservative (36%) and Economic Conservative (83%) = Strong Republican!
Also, many of the questions were whack!
Pastor Pitman is a

Social Liberal (75%) + Economic Conservative (70%) = Libertarian
Philip, I agree that some of the questions were ambiguous. For example, the one about "protecting my property with lethal force." While I'd be uncomfortable if every idiot on the street had a gun, I'd rather arm pilots than get groped by the TSA every time I board a plane. I also like the idea of legal duals but think they should only be fought until first blood (as many historical duels were), not to the death. That would just get too messy.
Also, hey, OkCupid! I met my husband there. And once I took OkCupid's phrase "You can test anything" perhaps a bit too literally: http://www.okcupid.com/tests/the-love-hate-leonardo-dicaprio-test
